To give you an idea of how I even got started in boudoir I have to start by saying everything happens for a reason!

I started shooting boudoir in 2014 all thanks to Lexy Kaczmarowski who was one of my roommates best friend. She came to me knowing I did photography and thought of this great idea of me taking these sexy photos of her so she could make her boyfriend a look book for Christmas. (great gift idea btw)

I was hesitant only because I have never done this before and I had no idea what I was doing. Sometimes YOLO is the right answer.

We used my room – yes my bedroom. We stripped my sheets to an all white duvet, took my Audrey Hepburn art down so only my white wall showed, and we even strung some holiday lights up to try and set the mood. P.S there was no mood set, ahhaha.

There were 5-6 of us girls there including me, my roommates and our friends. We prefaced the night with a few shots to ease the nerves; we all have them its true. After that it was all smooth sailing. I bought a lighting kit on amazon hoping that it would some what gave us the look we were going for and these are how the photos turned out ….

 

Not too shabby for a first try. As one of us was on the bed posing, I was shooting, and everyone else was either encouraging or motivating. We had such a blast. We did this a few times in college because it was so much fun and we all loved it as well as all of the significant others who benefitted from it!

As I learned more and more about boudoir I fell more and more in love. What a beautiful time in our lives. Not every day is promised so we have to take advantage of every moment we have. How better to reflect then these moments frozen in time!
