Roxanne and Dustin are expecting their very first bundle of joy! YAY!
This sweet couple is from Flagstaff, and made the trek all the way down to sunny Phoenix to shoot with me. What an honor!
As I do with all my clients that I am meeting for the first time, I tried to get to know them a little both before and during our shoot. By the end of it, they told me a great story about their wedding day that I wanted to share with you all so you can get to know them a little better too!
Dustin actually got in a car accident on the way to the ceremony and ended up breaking his arm. Of course with being the groom he still showed up! Not having time to explain or do much about the situation, he walked hand in hand with his bride to be. Full of love and joy, Roxanne held onto him not knowing it was broken, and thought that he was shaking so bad because he was nervous and just so excited to get married! Dustin leaned over and said, “I’m not shaking cause I love you so much. I broke my arm and the way you’re holding it hurts so bad.” It was definitely an emotional moment that the two of them and myself won’t forget!
We ended up having to find some different locations than originally planned to use for our desert maternity photoshoot, but luckily there were so many great options near by. Arizona is lush with beautiful landscape and provides the perfect backdrop to any outdoor shoot.
I could tell that Dustin was really shy when we first started. Not everyone is comfortable with being in front of the camera and I totally understand that. Part of the reason why I love to do photography is actually creating a personal connection between myself and my client away from the camera. I want to get to know you and make it feel like we are all just hanging out and then I just happen to catch some great moments on film! It’s all about having fun and enjoying the experience.
Roxanne was a true natural and guided her husband throughout the session. She took my direction so well and allowed her inner glow to shine right through! She wore a simple but elegant blush pink maxi dress that complimented the natural desert background.
I’m hoping this baby boy arrives happy, healthy, and safe during this current crazy situation! Help me in wishing them the very best in the comments below:
