A few weeks back I held one of my Headshot Happy Hour sessions. Though it took place during the early time of COVID-19, I still followed strict safety guidelines as I kept my distance and the area sanitized throughout the day. I was able to complete a series of shoots for a number of local professionals that I would like to highlight in today’s blog post!
I’ve said this before, but the reasons for getting new headshots are truly endless. Whether it is for professional or personal reasons, an updated and high-quality photo can serve many purposes and is also a great way to become more comfortable in front of a camera.
Meet Jeremy. He works at TEKsystems as a consultant for software development. He has lost a lot of weight recently and is very excited to show it off! Many people have mentioned to him that his old profile pictures don’t look like him when he shows up to places, so it was definitely time for an updated headshot. I am so glad I was able to do this for him and show off his amazing accomplishments.
Meet Giulia. Giulia is actually one of my old sorority sisters, so it was great to reconnect with her. She recently landed her dream job out of college with Aerotek and is starting to pursue photography on the side. These photos will serve as great content for her photography page and signify her new professional journey with the company.
Meet Lexi. Lexi and I had a lot of fun with her headshot happy hour session. She took a more creative route with the photoshoot, combining professional with editorial. Her inspiration was kind of Vogue-esque with her wardrobe styling and editing. She is currently a Leisure Travel Coordinator and Blogger. It just goes to show that these sessions don’t always have to be strictly professional standard headshots. You can totally have fun with it and make the experience what you want it to be!
Meet Stephany. She also works at TEKsystems as a technical recruiter. Stephany has such an amazing smile, and it was definitely contagious during our session! We used a few props such as a mirror and director’s chair to make her headshots a little more unique.
Meet Taylor. She is a technical recruiter at TEKsystems as well! Originally Taylor was really shy about the shoot, but soon broke out of her shell and ended up killing it. We kept it classic and simple for her photos, but you can see her great energy shine right through to create some impactful headshots.
Meet Edina. This one is extra special because guess what, Edina is my mom! She does modern calligraphy and lettering for signs, stationary, and events and has her own Etsy shop. Headshot sessions can be a great way to get some professional photos of you in action to help promote your business. See her work @mojtoko on Instagram.
Meet Emily and Austin. The couple decided to do both individual and couple photos during their session. This allowed them to each get professional shots and have some fun at the same time! The two of them brought fake glasses and fake cigarettes as props and had some dramatic black and white edits done. We were able to have a good time, laugh a lot, and I think it’s exactly what we all needed after being cooped up during quarantine!
